JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Running Catastrophe loss modeling software (Natural perils and Terrorism) and preparing regular and ad-hoc data extracts and reports for the monitoring of AGCS global loss potential - including portfolio analyses, CAT limit monitoring (AZ Group and AGCS internal limits), supporting global business steering and providing input to ensure adequate Reinsurance protection.
For ad-hoc data and reporting as well as project related tasks, contribute to defining scope, timeframes and executing deliverables with internal and external clients.
Collaboration with CUO LOBs and other relevant functions (Actuarial, Risk Management, Reinsurance, Cat Capacity Steering Desk - CCSD, ARC, Claims, etc.) to support business steering and portfolio management, Solvency II requirements, Reinsurance renewals and Data Quality improvements.
Provide on the spot consultancy and translate or explain CAT Modeling results and reports to users in CxO.
Communication and explanation of portfolio impact (e.g., from model changes) to internal clients.
Training and education across AGCS, AZ Group, as well as clients.
Drive innovation and change through managing the evaluation process relating to modeling upgrades, GIS applications and other vendor catastrophe loss modeling software.
Handle all upgrade and change activities, including technical and portfolio impact analyses and complete documentation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Degree preferably in Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics
Professional insurance and/or reinsurance experience
Understanding of underwriting practice for industrial risks and corporate business on a global basis
Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Practical experience and familiarity with multiple vendor tools
- Catastrophe Modeling Software experience (RMS, AIR, EQECAT)
- GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications experience
- Strong PC software knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access and SQL)
Project Management experience
Professional communication skills, with an ability to communicate with required levels/functions internally and externally in a global environment
Strong time management and organization skills
