Description of the job

A vacancy for a Tolerancing Specialist (KC&T - Key Characteristics & Tolerancing) (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.
You will join the Airframe Tolerancing department.

Within the Engineering function (Airframe organisation), you will be accountable for carrying out Tolerancing studies and for leading frontier process on various areas.
Such studies result in data input for the definition dossier (frontier / interchangeability, interface, assembly and elementary part ) and manufacturing build concept.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

¤ Carrying out tolerancing studies enabling to output design principles assembly process, datum definition and manufacturing capabilities definition,
¤ Supporting the Control Plan Multi-Functional Team and the Integrator Assembly Specification definition,
¤ Following-up work orders,
¤ Coordinating and liaising with subcontractors.

The scope covers all programmes in the Make or Buy perimeter.

During the Definition and development phases and later on, the serial phase, you will work closely with:

¤ Design and Stress teams,
¤ Manufacturing engineering teams,
¤ Quality plant teams,
¤ Programme teams,
¤ MAP (Mise Au Point) and Plant engineering teams.

This role will involve around 8 business trips per year (worldwide) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

¤ A 5 years' degree in Mechanical and or Manufacturing Engineering,
¤ At least 3 years' experience as a designer, quality plant specialist or manufacturing engineer,
¤ Experience in the following tools: CATIA V5, MECA Master (3D assembling simulation tool),
¤ GD&T reading skills (ISO1101) (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing),
¤ Autonomous, proactive and agile,
¤ Pragmatic mindset,
¤ Advanced level in English and French.
