Description of the job

The Airbus Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for a CDF Systems Engineer (m/f) to join the Concurrent Design Facility of the Technology Planning and Roadmapping unit.
This position is for a 12 Months Fixed-Term Contract to be based in Toulouse, France.

The CDF Systems Engineer will be in charge of preparing, facilitating and monitoring concurrent design sessions to validate and curate the technology roadmap portfolio of Airbus.

Reporting to the Head of the Concurrent Design Facility, you will be working in a team of CDF Systems Engineers supporting Roadmap Owners and Expert teams in developing technology roadmap elements, including technical models for figure of merit evaluation, roadmap architecture models, roadmap interdependencies, and so on.

The CDF Systems Engineer will also contribute improving the operations of the CDF by developing quick user guides, concurrent engineering processes, and publications.

Tasks & accountabilities

Specific responsibilities of the position are to:

·  Monitor and regularly report the progress on technology roadmap studies through development and maintenance of progress dashboards.
·  Facilitate the execution of concurrent technology roadmapping studies.
·  Identify, assign, and monitor progress on individual work activities in between CDF study sessions to relevant participants and roadmap owners.
·  Collect and maintain relevant documentation (participants, models used, attendance, etc.) on studies conducted in the CDF through study reports.
·  Develop, verify and validate technical and financial (NPV) models in CDF.
·  Develop, verify and validate concurrent design processes for TPR.
·  Document technical and financial models, and related processes used during CDF studies.
·  Develop quick user guides for CDF users, study participants, and roadmap owners.
·  Interface with the Roadmap Owners Group, TPR Process Owners, Technology Scouting, and TPR Team X.

Required skills

·  Master's or Doctoral Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines.
·  Experience in Concurrent Design studies is an asset.
·  Experience in Mathematical Models (Data Analysis and/or Conceptual Modeling) of Aerospace Engineering Systems.
·  Experience in Modeling within at least one relevant domain of knowledge (aircraft, space, defense, helicopters) is required.
·  Knowledge and/or experience in System Modeling using formal languages (e.g. SysML and/or OPM) is an asset.
·  Knowledge and/or experience of Concurrent Engineering or Agile (scrum) working principles is an asset.
·  Knowledge of Project Management principles; working knowledge of Gantt diagrams.
·  Working knowledge of Lean engineering principles is an asset.
·  Fluency in English and French. Working knowledge of German, Spanish, and Italian are assets.
