One vacancy for a Design Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Nantes.
You will join the ESXA Department - Nantes Plant Engineering.
The Nantes Plant Engineering team is in charge of providing technical support to the plant, which expertise covers the manufacture of both Metallic and Composite elementary parts, as well as the assembly of a wide range of major constituent assemblies such as Centre Wing Box, Air Inlet, Keel Beam, Rudder, Outer Wing Box, whilst covering six aircraft programs (ATR, A320, A330, A380, A400M and A350XWB-900/1000).
The Nantes Plant Engineering is accountable for all the engineering deliverables to the plant, and therefore coordinates inputs from the Toulouse based Design Office towards the plant component delivery teams.
In this context, the air inlet plant engineering is recruiting new designer, to go with air inlet ramps-up and arrival of A330neo into serial. The candidate will participate to air inlet team growth and will work within following challenges:
¤ multi-functional team involvement,
¤ supporting key improvement initiatives such as RC/NRC and concessions reduction, and disturbance eradication to drive plant industrial performance,
¤ exposure to cross programs, cross skills development opportunities,
¤ supporting air inlet A320neo and A350 ramp-up (rate multiplied by 5 within 2 years),

Tasks & accountabilities
The open position is Design Approver on Air inlet all programs (A330neo, A320neo, A350-900&-1000 and A380)
The jobholder will report directly to the Ho plant engineering air inlet (ESXAO).
The jobholder will be responsible for the following:
¤ Design validation of structure concessions (T200),
¤ Support the plant in the resolution of composite acoustic panel and air inlet assembly non-quality crises,
¤ Assess structural salvage (e.g., disposition, acceptance or repair) for non-conformities at AM/NC stage,
¤ Provide technical expertise to production and quality representatives in case of Major Events, thus contributing to production key milestones risk management,
¤ Define and lead or support improvement projects such as RC/NRC reduction, concession reduction, via strong coordination between Design Office, Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality,
¤ Support the Continuous Product Development team in the delivery of Plant Improvement Mods and Flow Mods,
¤ Provide technical leadership and advice to the design analyst's community (T100) and drive RTT/RTO reduction,
¤ Drive concession delivery performance via strong focus on priorities and Time To Answer targets,
¤ Suggest innovative ideas for operational problem solving and mid/long term process improvement.

¤ You demonstrate at least 5 year experience in lightweight structure design, ideally on both metallic and composite structures,
¤ You demonstrate a sound Airworthiness Awareness via previous professional experience such as certification,
¤ You are able to work in a multi-functional team and to manage complexity,
¤ You can manage business pressure to deliver critical deliverables under aggressive timescales,
¤ You are customer focused and have strong communication skills,
¤ You have an advanced level in French and in English,
¤ Knowledge of the non-conformity processes would be a plus,
¤ You are master with Catia (metal and composite),
¤ You have configuration management knowledge,
¤ Ideally, you hold a delegated authority for concession design approval and drawing check & approval
