Description of the job

A vacancy for an Solution Architect has arisen within Airbus India in Bangalore. You will join the Software Development team within the Digital department for a specific domain.

Following best IT practices and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), the team developed software products on iOS/iPad, web applications, etc. that can be used by pilots.

As a member of the Software Factory team, you will collaborate with fellow architects, development teams, and other stakeholders to design resilient, feasible, and scalable solutions for our customers. You will also prioritize features that build out the architecture runway, and align with standards.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a team player with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

This position will report to a Group Manager within Airbus India. Passion for technology and problem solving are a must have.

Tasks & accountabilities

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

· 
Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and other stakeholders to align the technical solution with the business requirements

· 
Responsible for the solution architecture life-cycle activities i.e. requirements gathering, architecture design, architecture documentation, architecture evaluation, architecture evolution, etc.

· 
Create, maintain, and prioritize the enabler feature work in the program backlog and help development teams understand and break down the enabler features into user stories as needed

· 
Provide architecture guidance to development teams

· 
Collaborate with other professionals to create/align/evolve development processes and standards

· 
Conduct/participate in non-functional requirement and architecture decision assessments

· 
Design, visualize and communicate architectures in different levels of detail from system in context to high level technology choices to functional components.

· 
Drive architecture concepts and trade studies based on functional and nonfunctional requirements such as security by design and obsolescence

· 
Participation in architecture exchange and communities for architecture

· 
Coaching, mentoring and enabling other developers

· 
Application level solution designing and support

· 
Application scaling to the platform and following guidelines and standards

· 
Designing, developing, testing, documenting, publishing, supporting and operating on premises and cloud (AWS, GCP) applications

· 
Understanding and utilizing the CI/CD pipeline efficiently

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

The skills you bring

· 
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, information technology or other related discipline with 11-13 years of total experience

· 
Min. 2-3 years agile experience working in cross-functional Agile teams from inception to release.

· 
Min. 2-3 years of experience designing and building complex IT systems.

· 
Experience with Agile methodology, and ideally (but not necessarily) Kanban and SAFe

· 
Preferred skills:

· 
Experience working on distributed systems, and microservices

· 
Experience with systems integration

· 
Experience working on data-driven applications

· 
Knowledge of software security standards and best practices

Must Have - Experience with:

· 
Application level solution designing and support

· 
Application scaling to the platform and following guidelines and standards

· 
Microservices and System Integration experience

· 
Experience in designing and implementing server-less architecture, RESTful APIs, Web-services

· 
Good understanding of implementing software security standards and best practices

· 
Designing, developing, testing, documenting, publishing, supporting and operating on premises and cloud (AWS, GCP) applications

· 
System architecture dossiers (technical chapter of an Architecture requirement dossier) answering to functional requirements

· 
Industrializing highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored solutions

· 
Strong knowledge about cyber security and the ability to design cyber security compliant applications and components

· 
Experience in software architecture/systems design and team leadership

· 
Experience with software development/architecture on the cloud

· 
Collaborates effectively with others in a team environment

· 
Experience with software design including design patterns, algorithms, the SOLID principles, and clean code

· 
Knowledge of architecture design including architecture patterns and anti-patterns

· 
Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project

· 
English: advanced level both verbal and written

Good to have (knowledge/experience):

· 
DevOps knowledge on CI/CD pipelines and utilizing them efficiently

· 
DevOps orientation, knowledge of continuous integration frameworks and some of the following products/tools: Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, VersionOne, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Ansible, etc
