An exciting opportunity has been created to Learn and understand 'systems installation industrialization’ methodologies at Airbus Broughton.

Within Aircraft there are many systems that are installed in a dedicated sequence, some of these are Electrical, Hydraulic, Fuel systems and other are installed in the wings.

Systems installation industrialization (SI) – Manufacturing Engineering team. As part of a translational team, based in Broughton we are the UK representatives.

We work closely with our network of colleagues in France, Germany and Spain.

For SI we are focal points for:-

·  Research and development – Bringing new technology to the production line.
·  Industrialization of SI projects to achieve rate increase, Safety, quality, cost and process improvements.
·  Technical/ Guidance for specific SI standards.

The role will be to learn and support the Manufacturing Engineering team.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

·  ‘Wing of tomorrow’ Project working on future wing SI concepts, to meet production rate on future Aircraft.
·  DDMS (Digital Design, Manufacturing & Services), converting the current 2 dimensional design to 3D and also improving the build process utilizing the digital mockup for the Single Aisle aircraft.
·  Productivity projects, improvement project to meet rate increase, Safety, quality, cost and process/people improvements.
·  Technical guidance to SI technical topics to the production team
·  Learn and follow LBIP ( Airbus Project management) Process
·  Whilst under the supervision of a core team, with the opportunity to visit other Airbus sites.

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  Studying towards an Aeronautical or similar Engineering discipline.
·  Some understanding of project management
·  Keen interest in the Aerospace industry or aviation
·  A positive attitude to change and innovation
·  Team player
·  Work experience (optional)  - working in team
·  Working on a project or part of a project team
