Description of the job

A vacancy for a Simulation Development Engineer - Telecom Systems (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse.
You will join the Telecom System department and participate in designing and developing simulation and analysis tools for satellite communication systems used either for sizing and dimension studies, or for system support for satellite projects and proposals.
You will report to the "system simulation" department manager for tool development activities and to the proposal, project or design study managers respectively for system support activities.

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Developing satellite system optimisation and dimensioning tools (e.g. statistical link budget,

frequency plan, etc.)
o Need analysis
o Definition of the calculation methods and algorithms to be implemented
o Implementation in software or spreadsheets
o Use of simulations
o Drafting of reports (in English)

These activities mainly cover tools likely to be used for system upstream design studies, whether internal or for agencies, in the context of satellite projects requiring this type of development or for improving tools to support proposals.

·  Participating in telecom satellite CFT activities :

o System support requiring the use of tools with regard to the technical teams responding to telecom satellite CFT
o Adaptation (and additional development as applicable) of performance analysis, optimisation and sizing tools during the actual CFT phase

Required skills

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to an engineering degree (or equivalent) in telecommunications,
·  Initial experience in software simulation and development,
·  Knowledge of:

o C/C++, Matlab and Java,
o Windows and Linux systems,
o Signal processing and digital communications,
o Maths and algorithms,

·  Ideally, knowledge of satellite telecommunications,
·  Ability to work in a team and with external partners, subcontractors, customers, etc.
·  Autonomy and willingness to take the initiative,
·  Meticulous approach to software development, analysis of results and drafting of reports,
·  Advanced level of English and intermediate level of French.
