You will work in the transnational Virtual Product Engineering team of the new Airbus Central R&T organisation which in the UK is based in the Airbus Wing Integration Center in Filton. It is a team built on agile engineering principles and placing a strong value on innovation. It has multinational makeup and team members will have opportunities to interact with Colleagues in France and Germany

Task & accountabilities :

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include:

·  Opportunities to develop skills and apply to problems at the cutting edge of Aircraft design.
·  Involved in the project team focus of any developments of future capability to support multi-disciplinary Design and optimisation through and modelling and simulation within a systems engineering approach.
·  Be involved in design challenges related to the Airbus Wing of Tomorrow Programme, Unmanned Air Vehicles / High Altitude Pseudo Satellites and the exploration of future technologies addressing environmentally sustainable aviation.

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

·  Undergraduate studying for an Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science (with a focus on an engineering application) Degree.
·  Show you can solve an engineering problem through the application of computational methods and computer programming e.g. writing /enhancing simulation models or linking existing methods together.
·  Experience in solving engineering maths problems using an object orientated programming approach (eg C++ , python).
