Description of the job
A vacancy for a Satellite Accommodation Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. You will join the Satellite Design department . The "Satellite Design Group" department is in charge of completing and configuring
the spacecraft definition on behalf of the project team to meet customer expectations from a technical, schedule and cost point of view, using standardised units and following standard processes as much as possible.
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
· Coordinating, by delegation of the satellite design manager, the communication module accommodation requirements, leading to an overall optimised spacecraft design (technical, cost and schedule) by using as far as possible standardised parts ( both internal & external)
· Producing a formalised output of these requirements in engineering software design tool (called Satellite Sizing Tool (SST))
· Driving priorities for multi-sites Design Offices
· Leading DMU (digital Mock-Up) reviews with structure, antenna, repeater, harness, TCR, CPS, etc.
· Leading weekly teleconference with mechanical platform group
· Leading weekly teleconference with Payload Custom and Design Offices
· Participating actively to weekly i-Obeya
· Participate to the Eurostar product improvement activities (introduction of units evolutions, components, materials, Eurostar 100V, etc.) and to Eurostar NEO system trade-offs
· Facilitating improvements at Design Office level by streamlining our processes
· Participating actively to SST improvement
This role will involve some travel (Once a quarter in the UK) for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Graduate from engineering school ( or equivalent)
· Initial experience in a design office in aerospace environment required
· Knowledge in space industry would be a plus
· Knowledge in software development appreciated
· Ability to work in a concurrent engineering environment with strong schedule constraints
· Ability to commit on requirements
· Meticulous
· Good communication
· French negotiation level is required
· English advanced level is required
