Description of the job

A vacancy for a Rotor Stress Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane (France). You will join the Stress Analysis for Rotors Engineering department and be part of one of our team dedicated to Development (H160, X6, etc.) or Series Production (H175, H225, NH90, Tiger, etc.) activities.

You will work directly on critical parts of the rotors in a high-tech environment, throughout the whole life cycle of the product.

This position will give you the opportunity to manage technical studies until completion.
It is offered on a local contract only as a position II or IIIA.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

· Sizing mechanical rotor components under development
· Preparing, monitoring and analysing fatigue test of rotor parts
· Preparing, monitoring and analysing flight test with pilots to deal with the stresses required for calculations
· Analysing the constraints and justifying resistance of parts (metal and composite) under static and fatigue loads.
· Preparing detailed stress data and documents to be provided to the authorities in meeting the objectives of safety, performance, manufacturability, structural integrity, maintainability and cost
· Analysing incidents of in-service helicopters and meeting the demands of customer support
· Developing methodologies and scientific computing

Profil recherché

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
¤ 5-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Structures
¤ Proficient user of finite element modelling tools (Samcef and Hypermesh preferably)
¤ Strong skills in strength of materials
¤ Strong mechanical skills (operating systems and behaviour)
¤ Initial experience in mechanical sectors (design/stress) would be a plus
¤ Good knowledge of metallic and composite materials would be a plus
¤ Knowledge in fatigue would be a plus
¤ Design knowledge would be a plus
¤ English: advanced level
