Description of the job
A position of Real Time Embedded Software Development Responsible has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. You will join TESOD organisation.
Within the “Data processing and On-Board SW” (TESOD5) department in the “Data Processing and On-board Software” (TESOD) transnational Unit, you will join the Software Development team.
Your mission will consist in handling the on-board Software (SW) development (production and validation phases) for Earth Observation, telecom, and Science Satellites.
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Writing the Software Validation, Verification, Configuration management plans,
- Defining and justifying the main static and dynamic architecture drivers and writing the Software Design Document,
- Ensuring technical consistency of architecture w.r.t Software Requirement Specification,
- Defining the SW validation strategy,
- Participating in the development activities i.e. Design, Coding, Verification and Validation) and maintenance activities for Onboard Software,
- Managing the development team and coordinating the development activities,
- Estimating the cost/planning for activities under your responsibility in support with the Software Delivery Manager,
- Applying the define processes, identifying and reporting improvement on the used processes to the process owner.
This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Competencies in Real Time (Operating System, scheduling, etc.), Design method and Language (UML, etc.), Programming Languages (C, Java, etc.), Interface hardware/software,
- Knowledge of development Tools (Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, etc.) and operating systems (Unix, NT and associated scripts language),
- Good knowledge of the applicable standards related to the development of the space software, especially ECSS E40, ECSS Q80,
- Ability to listen, availability, rigor, spirit of analysis and synthesis,
- Ability to take initiative, autonomy,
- Leadership, pedagogic and communication skills,
- Languages skills: advanced level of English and negotiation level of French.
