The Earth Observation (EO) service based on imagery data collected from space or from stratosphere is a fast growing business. To strengthen his current position of world number 2 on the EO space data market, Airbus Defence and Space has engaged the development of its future service capacities both in term of data collection, including in particular the manufacturing of new constellation of satellites, and in terms of digital information system based on Cloud technologies.
Within Airbus Defence and Space, the related programs are managed by the INTELLIGENCE business cluster of the CIS division (CIS-INT).
On top of these internal programs, CIS-INT have to manage several projects developing solutions adapted to Export customers who want to receive and process these data and also to lead technical studies to prepare for the next steps.
CIS-INT is recruiting one experienced Project Management Officer (m/f) to support Project managers in the coordination of their projects.
The Project Management Officer supports on a daily basis one or several Project Managers in the organisation, the planning, the consolidation, the reporting and the animation of their projects. He proposes management processes; guidance and metrics adapted to each project and to the monitoring of attached work packages. He supports their implementation and contributes to their execution.
He consolidates and maintains a current status of the projects with particular focus on budget, workload, schedule and risks & opportunities. He supports the Project Manager in the preparation of the regular reporting to the project stakeholders.
As a specific task, the jobholder enters monitors and maintains the development schedule of the supported projects with an adequate tool in support to the related development managers.
The Project PMO is part of the Future Optical Development Programs department of CIS-INT and reports directly to the Head of that department.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Supporting Project Managers in the organization of project activities. Contribute in particular to the following:
o Set-up of operating rules adapted to the project context and complexity.
o Definition and implementation of guidance processes, metrics and tools, e.g. coordination meetings, monthly progress reviews, KPI's, etc.
o Selection and implementation of methodologies & tools for the management of requirements.
o Selection and implementation of adequate tool for the management of project schedule.
o When relevant, implementation of Lean management methods (Obeya, VSM, etc.) adapted to the project.
o Elaboration and maintenance of the program management plan and related referential.
Facilitating and taking part in the coordination of the projects, ensuring the application of the considered management processes:
o Attend coordination meetings of projects and related work packages; Animate some of these meetings.
o Measure and control progresses of projects and related work packages; Identify and report the transverse issues.
o Manage risks & opportunities and report them to the project manager.
o Manage project action items.
o Support the management of project resource needs.
Managing the schedule of projects :
o From inputs given by the project managers and development planning officers, enter schedule of projects into a project planning tool; Support these managers in the regular updates of the schedule.
o Ensure the consistency of project schedule; report to project manager any identified inconsistency.
o Identify critical paths and schedule margins.
o Issue regular reporting on project schedule.
Maintain project status and contribute to project reporting:
o Collect progress reports and KPI's from contributing work packages.
o Manage, with F&C support, financial status of the projects (actuals, forecast, contingency budgets, etc.).
o Computes program KPI's; Measure deviations vs project objectives.
o Synthesize a general project status; Contribute to the preparation of regular project reports.

Required skills
You will have the following skills and experience:
- 3-year+ of experience in Project Management Office team.
- Training in PM skills.
- An experience in ground system project (design, development and integration phases) is would be a plus.
- Knowledge of Earth Observation systems (functions, performances, operations) would be a plus.
- Methodical, proactive, reliable, rigorous and consistent.
- Analysis and global approach.
- Communication skills, written and spoken.
- Team player.
- Negotiation level in English and French.
