Description of the job

Airbus has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) as the prime contractor to develop EGNOS V3, the next generation of the European Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) planned to provide the aviation community with advanced Safety of Life services and new services to Maritime and Land users.
Airbus will be responsible for the development, integration, deployment and preparation of EGNOS V3 operations, the overall performance of the system and the Central Processing Facility which is the heart of the real time navigation algorithms.

In this scope, TOQSE1 (ENS Product Assurance France) is opening a new position for a PA manager who will cover two different roles in this program:

·  H/W PA Manager (half-time)
·  QA & Procurement PA Manager (half-time)

For both projects, you will report to the Head of Department PA ENS-France.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the relevant authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
1. H/W PA Manager

·  Preparation and update of Hardware documents established at system level (integration standards and Hardware Engineering Requirements)
·  Preparation and participation to customer reviews for all Hardware Product Assurance subjects
·  Interface with ESA customer for all Hardware approval subjects (in accordance with DO254 standards for Hardware and DO278A standards for Software integrated in Hardware)
·  Ensuring the approval process (certification) for all critical Hardware subsystems
·  Ensuring the adherence to internal processes and customer requirements applicable to the project, as well as added rules specific to this project
·  Managing the non-conformance processes for Hardware subsystems, in relation with the relevant subcontractors, the Egnos V3 PA Manager and ESA, including in terms of deviations and root causes analyses, follow-up of containment, adjustment, corrective and preventive actions
·  Managing risks and opportunities with associated mitigation actions for Hardware subsystems, in relation with the relevant subcontractors and the EGV3 PA Manager

2. QA & Procurement PA manager for EGNOS V3

·  Subcontractors follow-up for quality aspects:

>Definition of specific Egnos V3 PA requirements for relevant subcontractors
>Review of subcontractor Data Package to prepare your participation to the subcontractors reviews and to prepare the inputs for the customer reviews, in collaboration with the EgnosV3 PA manager
>Interfaces with subcontractors: follow-up of design activities, H/W qualification, assembly and delivery in the perimeter of DAL E, D, C, B

·  Management of QA activities for the EGV3 system:

>Preparation and update of the QA processes for design and verification - Manufacturing, Assembly and Integration – Testing – Acceptance and Delivery – Integrated Logistic Support – Metrology and Calibration - Packaging at system level (ONCR, acceptance, etc.)
>Ensuring the application of these processes in the EGV3 programme
>Ensuring Non-Conformance and alert reporting
>Preparation and update of QA system documents
>Preparation and participation to ESA reviews

This role will involve business travels (1 or 2 days per month) and as such, you should be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to Engineering degree level (or equivalent)
·  Confirmed experience in Hardware (for Ground Segments)
·  Knowledge of processes and associated regulations for Hardware on Ground Segment (DO254 and DO278A especially)
·  Knowledge of Navigation (Galileo, GPS, GNSS) or Egnos V2 (would be an advantage)
·  Good communication skills, meticulousness, good interpersonal skills and team spirit
·  English: advanced level
·  French: negotiation level
