Description of the job

A vacancy for a Plant engineering - Design approver (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Nantes.
You will join the Department-A350 Centre Wing Box & Keel Beam, Center Fuselage section.

The Nantes Plant Engineering team is in charge of providing technical support to the plant, which expertise covers the
manufacture of both Metallic and Composite elementary parts, as well as the assembly of a wide range of major constituent
assemblies such as Centre Wing Box, Air Inlet, Keel Beam, Rudder, Outer Wing Box, whilst covering six aircraft programs (ATR,
A320, A330, A380, A400M and A350XWB-900/1000).
The Nantes Plant Engineering is accountable for all the engineering deliverables to the plant, and therefore coordinates inputs
from the Toulouse based Design Office towards the plant component delivery teams.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Under the responsibility of the head of MAP for A350 Centre Wing Box & Keel Beam, Center Fuselage section, the jobholder
takes part in the resolution of the queries coming from the production.
Detached on the production site of Nantes, as a design office team member, the jobholder will be in charge of the design
continuous support to manufacturing and mainly of:

·  analyzing the non-conformities or the damages resulting from the production and submitting proposals for rework/repair for the

elementary parts (CFRP / Metal) and assembly issues

·  ensuring the interface between various departments
·  bringing a quick support/answer to the production queries for simple issues
·  working in cooperation with of the technical experts of the design office for complex issues

The jobholder will also contribute to:

·  the improvement of the product with an open minded proactive attitude by providing engineering support to manufacturing

teams.

·  the analysis of the process of production and its improvement

This role will involve some travel for business in Toulouse (every 2 months) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  You have an engineering degree or equivalent.
·  A proven experience already gets on aircraft structures or other lightweight structures design is required (at least appreciated).
·  A previous experience in shop floor support activities could be an enhancer.
·  Ability to use modern CAD programs. Preference given to knowledge of CATIA V5.
·  Ability to define/validate relevant repair/rework solution for structural hybrid assembly (composite/metal) or elementary parts.
·  Ability to understand and adapt/apply the engineering requirements to the manufacturing issues encountered.
·  Understanding how are working aircraft structures and/or other lightweight structure.
·  Knowledge of internal Airbus processes, method and tools would be an advantage

·  Good communications and presentations skills.
·  Proactive working attitude with ability to work autonomously but also within a team with a good efficiency.
·  Ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
·  Ability to adapt to the various situation/people encountered in a multicultural environment.
·  Ability to work reactively in a challenging manufacturing environment
·  Advanced level in English and French
