Description of the job
A vacancy for a Nacelle Stress Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.
Nacelles are made of all cowls surrounding the engine, from inlet to exhaust. These parts are usually procured and are often part of BUY process.
You will be the Airbus Nacelle Technical Representative for structural aspects, in front of the Nacelle Manufacturer / Engine Manufacturer / Program / Center of Competence / Procurement / Certification / Customer Service.
The job position is related to management as well as technical assessment, of structural strength activities. These will deal with static, fatigue and damage tolerance aspects for metallic and composite parts of nacelle structures and equipment/systems with structural constraints.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Concessions from manufacturing or FAL (Final Assembly Line) plants:
The stress representative is responsible for:
· Either analyzing and agreeing the proposed stress technical solutions from nacelle manufacturer, or for approving it, according to your level of delegation,
· On time repairs (local damages) requests from customer services department (damage report): you will be responsible for analyzing and agreeing all stress technical data needed to solve the event,
· Modifications requests from nacelle manufacturers or program departments:
You will be responsible for analyzing and agreeing all technical data needed to support the mod approval in front of the airworthiness teams. You will have, in particular, to analyze the CP (change proposal), propose a mod classification, fulfill technical stress data in the dedicated document, analyze impact on Airbus technical documentation,
· Airworthiness issues: they might come from Nacelle manufacturer (in service events info, quality issues), FAL, Quality, Customer services, Design Office, Manufacturing.
You will be in charge of:
· Defining and agreeing the risk assessment based on airworthiness requirements,
· Providing all technical data (with nacelle manufacturer concurrence), needed to support the event closure in front of the relevant certification agency,
· In service problem (not linked to airworthiness issues) from customer services departments: you will be responsible for defining and agreeing the root cause of the event (with nacelle manufacturer concurrence), you will be responsible for providing all needed technical data, to support the recovery,
· Supporting publishing aircraft documentation support: for SRM (Structural Repair Manual), your will be responsible for analyzing/agreeing or approving the technical justification from nacelle manufacturer. You will have to approve the repair depending on your level of delegation.
In addition, you will be in charge of the double check of the SRM before publication from the tech pub department.
For SB (Service Bulletin), you will be responsible for analyzing/agreeing or approving the technical justification from the nacelle manufacturer, as well as the IAS (Inspection Approval Sheet), before the official publication from the tech pub department. Your level of involvement depends on your level of delegation.
You will be responsible for analyzing/agreeing or approving the technical justification from the nacelle manufacturer, for the writing of the IRD document (Inspection Requirement Document), before the official publication from the tech pub department. Your level of involvement depends on your level of delegation.
In addition, you will:
*Participating in the Airbus policies updates,
*Contributing to the specification definition towards the nacelle manufacturer,
*Contributing to lessons learnt,
*Participating in assessment/survey in the frame of nacelle manufacturer delegation.
This role will potentially involve 1 travel for business per year (worldwide) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Educated to a 5 years-degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering,
· At least 3 years-experience in Engineering Stress ideally on Nacelle product,
· An overall knowledge on Static, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance for composite and metallic parts,
· Good communication skills, ability to convince and federate (several interfaces), customer oriented,
· Advanced level of French & in English.
