Description of the job

A vacancy for a "Multiphysics modeling designer technician" has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the "Check out services & Advanced Physics department".
This Advanced Physics group provides expertise in many technical domains such as space environment, fluid mechanics, plasmic physics, thermal, debris, interaction plasma / spacecraft.

The team realises a big share of its activities in supporting the satellite projects with space physics analysis (outgassing, plume impigment, electric propulsion, radiation, etc.) based on Systema software or other commercial software. The team has in charge the development of the Systema software suite, used on the different Airbus DS sites but also sold to many international customers.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

In the context of the design validation analyses and under the responsability of the technical responsible, you will prepare the geometrical and physical models using Systema software suite.

As the selected candidate, your activities will mainly be to:

o Develop the geometrical models of spacecraft, using CATIA configuration definition
o Adapt it to the targeted discipline: plume impingement, contamination, micrometeroids and débris, radiation
o Post-processing activities: contribute to deliverable technical documentation
o Master the modelling part of Systema and contribute to the user documentation and support

This position includes, on the one side activities related to Airbus DS program support (from early design phase to in-orbit follow-up) and on the other side activities related to scientific software maintenance.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a BTS/DUT/IUTdegree level (or equivalent) in a job related discipline (physics, design, IT...).
·  At least 3 years-experience in Manufacturing Systems Engineering or Aircraft design.
·  Thus skills in computer technology is appreciated (Python, C, C++).
·  You will be integrated in a team of 8 to 10 persons in which your organisation skills, autonomy and rigor will be key.
·  You have an intermediate level in English and an advanced level in French.
