Description of the job

A vacancy for a Launcher Simulation Software Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Les Mureaux (78).

Prime contractor" for launchers and space vehicles Programs, Airbus Space System also contributes to complex system architecture projects such as Air Traffic Management, anti-ballistic missile defence for NATO but also develop by itself technologic demonstrator to assess technologies maturities and concepts for future space Programs.
In the context of the design and development phase of the next generation launcher Ariane 6 that will hand over Ariane 5 from 2020, Airbus Space System is looking for a software and simulation engineer who will join the simulation test facilities development department. Under the direct responsibility of the project manager, you shall contribute to the engineering and development of real-time simulators (with Hardware in the Loop) & numerical simulators but also associated tools (pre and post-processing tools).
Inputs: Requirements provided by system architecture, design rules and standards, interfaces requirements and constraints, work packages definition.
Outputs: Implementation Data Package, drawings and schematics (if applicable), Documentation and Analysis Reports.
Mission: responsible for detailed design in CAD/CAM or software implementation on component/equipment/mechanical/software level to the specifications made at superior levels.
This post will require security clearance or security clearance eligibility by the relevant authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

·  Contributing to requirements definition and associated engineering activities,
·  Taking charge of development and validation tests for software modules under your responsibility,
·  Contributing to integration and validation phase on the simulation test facility itself,
·  Giving support to the tests team (user of the facility) in charge of formal launcher qualification tests,
·  Delivering the design, drawings, diagrams, prototypes and SW module delegated to you, as per the Work Package description,
·  Managing the version control of various iterations if necessary,
·  Providing all documentation related to the delegated work package.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to an Engineering degree level in Information Technology (or equivalent),
·  Initial experience with similar responsibilities (Engineering, Information Systems),
·  Knowledge of Software engineering - Real-time computing - C/C++/C# and Java languages - Operating System Unix and Windows - OOD Method, UML - MMI and GUI development - Data representation (XML, etc.) - Web services,
·  Advanced level of English and negotiation level of French.
