Description of the job

The Overall Systems Architecture & Ground Test group of Airbus is looking for a Ground Test Design & Support Engineer to join our team in Toulouse, France.

The team is responsible for:

·  Integrating Systems Architectures,
·  Implementing Design For Manufacturing and Airlines testing,
·  Operating and supporting Ground Test Requirements for all Airbus Commercial Programs (SA, A330, A350 and A380) and for future Programs.

Engineering has a role to play to secure Airbus industrial performance, in terms of Recurring Cost, Lead Time, Quality and Ramp-up. One of the key success factors is linked to the capability to design Aircraft Systems and Architectures that:

·  In early development phases - consider upfront the industrial integration requirements;
·  In detailed design and integration phases - secure the industrial requirements are met, and when they are not, secure they have as limited impact as possible;
·  In series phases - the design is continuously improved to contribute to continuous industrial performance improvement.

Tasks & accountabilities

The Ground Test Design and Support Engineer is accountable to:

·  Ensure testability feasibility analysis with Systems Designers and Ground Tests Design Teams to allow continuous improvements and move towards the vision of automatic testing.
·  Produce Ground Tests Requirements for the following ATA chapters: ATA20/24 (metallization), ATA24 (Electricity), ATA25 (Cockpit layout), ATA33 (cockpit lights), ATA34 (navigation) and ATA92 (Electrical installation) for all programs (ATA87 for A400M).
·  Produce clear operational test requirements that are feasible in diverse industrial contexts, secure the coverage of physical integration at Plant & at Final Assembly Line, and support Plant & Final Assembly Line in terms of tests implementation (test automation, test planning, tests means).
·  Ensure that the documents are available, in accordance with the aircrafts in production.
·  Act as an interface between the Design Office specialists from all Systems Community (Flight Control, Landing Gear, Cabin, Propulsion System) & Ground Test Engineers from the Flight Test Department and Ground Test Designers from Final Assembly Line/Plants Test Engineers.
·  Lead transformation projects contributing to Recurring Cost, Lead time reduction, and ramp-up.

·  Engineering Degree specialised in Embedded Systems within the Aerospace industry.
·  A first experience in Systems Engineering would be ideal; candidates with experience in Manufacturing/Production or with experience working as Line Maintainer in Airlines could also be considered.
·  Ability to take into account the industrial context while working on Systems Engineering activities.
·  Experience in Test Integration would be a strong asset.
·  Proactivity, persistence, technical curiosity.
·  Language Skills: advanced level of English and intermediate level of French.
