Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters (Marignane) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

Airbus Helicopters has invested in a Tartaric Sulfuric Anodizing (TSA) surface treatment installation to replace Chromic Acid Anodizing (CAA) on aluminium alloys.

You will be responsible for defining:

·  The tooling principle to be used based on those of CAA
·  The parameters to be applied on a dozen types of parts.

To obtain a uniform treatment over the entire area of the part.

Your main missions, tasks and responsibilities: To cater to environmental constraints within the REACH framework, Airbus Helicopters has decided to replace CAA by TSA.
The qualification tests of the process are being finalised. Before starting the piece-by-piece industrialisation phase, we want to carry out a pre-industrialisation phase in order to facilitate the deployment.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Studying the existing in CAA,
·  Searching for and analysing the available information on TSA in order to define the parameters/configurations/tooling to be tested with the Process Methods department that has lead the qualification process,
·  Carrying out and controlling the tests on the TDS line for a dozen types of parts representative of parts to be treated by TSA,
·  Summarising the tests to define:

. General rules for design tools (tool guide),
. Tooling work specifications for test parts,
. General rules to determine the parameters to be applied to various types of parts,
. Workshop specific documentation to create test parts.

Required skills

You are in the final year of an engineering school, university or equivalent (5-year degree), specialising in Engineering/Materials with a focus on Surface Treatments.

You ideally have initial experience in this field.

You have knowledge of:

·  Proficiency with Office tools Word, Excel,
·  Catia V5.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

You have an analytical and synthetic mind-set, and you are independent and know how to work in a functional sector.

English: intermediate level,
French: fluent.
