Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

Engineering MAP (Mise-Au-Point) is an acronym used at Airbus for Liaison Engineering between the Engineering Design Office on the one side and FAL (Final Assembly Line), Flight Test/Line, Delivery Centre on the other side. The focus is on short term trouble shooting (ensure operability of the fleet) and long term maturity improvement of the integrated used Systems.

Systems MAP as part of Engineering MAP is a transnational department located in Hamburg and Toulouse close to Flight Test and Flight Line.

With several system and programmes teams managed in a matrix organization, the department covers MAP activities for different systems on A350 XWB, A380, A330 and A320 aircrafts.

You will belong to the Transverse Operations Group and be in charge to deliver & programme teams dashboards and maintain the A350 MAP systems configuration for the EYIM department across all Systems team and to support the deployment of Systems MAP knowledge sharing data base.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be in charge of an improvement project supported by a technical tutor from one of the following Systems Teams: Cockpit, Flight Controls & Hydraulics, Electrics, Avionics, Connectivity, Fuel, Environmental Control Systems. The aim of the project is to optimise operations through digitalization.

During the internship you will work close together with the MAP systems specialists. Your main tasks will be to work in transnational project team improvement projects related to Systems MAP.

The internship at Systems MAP will allow get an insight into various areas of Airbus (e.g. Design Office, Flight Test, Airbus Production, Logistics,...).

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

You are in the second year of a Master's Degree or in the fifth year of an Engineering School, specialising in Information Technology.

You have a good knowledge in IT tools such as MS Excel, data bases, SAP, video editing tools and Python

Ideally you have some knowledge of systems engineering (e.g. avionics, fluid mechanics)

You are recognised for your good communication skills as well as your analytical and problem solving skills

You have advanced English and intermediate French skills.
