Description of the job

An internship in Statistics R&D Studies Engineering for Space Domain has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse. You will join the Products & Space Physics Engineering department.
The Optimisation and Telecom Payload Management Products centre develops software project for the sizing and operating of telecom satellite payloads. Some of these products have contributed to the consolidation of skills in applied mathematics in the department, enabling it to address various problems related to the space field in terms of modelling, optimisation and data analysis.
The stakes of the good health of satellites have generated an explosion in data. In the context of Big Data, methods must be developed in order to analyse this automatic data. The data can be related to all life phases of the satellite, from calls for tender to its design and up to its flight phase: design data (cost, weight, geometry, etc.), validation data of the telecom payload in a vacuum chamber, equipment telemetry date during the in-orbit phase of the satellite.
This internship will start in February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).
