Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an internship for a 6 month period.

Within the Instrumentation division, you will join the teams in charge of instrument definition and design. This entity's main task is to successfully carry out studies on space instruments, for all the programme phases, by providing the project teams with the services necessary for developing the product.

Within this entity, you will be responsible for defining new methodologies in terms of exchanging data and processing analyses relating to studies between CATIA and computer graphics software, interfacing with instrumentation engineering.

This internship will start on 16th January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Being the first point of contact for the instrument development teams as well as for the opto-mechanical engineering teams. Your main task will be to:

·  Improve the need linked to the processing of exchanges between computer graphics and CATIA software on the instruments,
·  Co-engineering interfacing with the opto-mechanical engineering teams to understand and suggest validated approaches for the inputs and outputs,
·  Testing and improving the existing process of exchange between CATIA and CODE V in the context of processing optical beams,
·  Improving the methodologies associated with the CATIA and CODE V dedicated tools.

Required skills

You are in the second year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or in 4th year of university, specialising in general Mechanical Engineering, Modelling and Simulation.

Ideally you should have initial experience and sound knowledge of:

·  General mechanical engineering,
·  3D design,
·  CAD CATIAV5 and V6,
·  AR/VR and other associated technologies,
·  Essential language programming (Python appreciated).

You are inquisitive, proactive and have a capability for accompanying change.

Knowledge of optics and the info graphics tool would be an advantage.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: Fluent level,
French: Fluent.
