Description of the job

An internship in Software Development – Flight Tests Operations (m/f) has opened up at Airbus in Toulouse.
You will join the Pilots team within the Engineering department and will work in collaboration with the different crew members and planning team. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to understand the flight test operations within a large organisation like Airbus by interfacing with various stakeholders like the Flight Operations Team, Pilots group and Flight Test Engineers. Your prime responsibility will be with the Chief Test Pilot.
This internship will start in February 2017 (date subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main missions will be to support the Pilots on key operational IT topics such as:
- Understanding the needs and difficulties of the entire planning process that concerns the flight crew administration and their missions (taking also into account various aspects such as qualification, rest time, flight categories, etc.),
- Understanding requirements and identifying existing opportunities and tools to enable a potential solution,
- Gathering requirements from users and stakeholders to elaborate the intended software specification,
- Participating in the software development project by writing the user stories, defining the acceptance criteria, validating the developed functionalities within the Agile methodology
- Monitoring and supporting interoperability with existing tools.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  In the 2nd year of a Master's degree level or in 5th year of an engineering school, or university, specialising in IT engineering,
·  Good programming skills,
·  Good project management skills,
·  An experience already with a IT tool that you have already participated to develop would be a plus,
·  An experience in flight environment (e.g.: private pilot) would be a plus,
·  Ability to manage several stakeholders,
·  Customer and solution oriented,
·  Ability to work proactively, with autonomy,
·  Advanced level of English.
