Description of the job

An internship for Software development for an Image ground segment (m/f) has arisen within the Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse.

Image Chain department scope of activities goes from R&D to development of image processing operational ground segments.

A team is in charge of developing and delivering our software products fo massive data processing and management. Our systems are deployed over several tens of site all over the world. They provide high level of operational performance (ergonomy, automation, availability, inter-operability, maintainability), of sizeability (data volume, computing capability, timeliness), of image products quality (radiometry and geometry).

Internship period length: 5 to 6 months between January and September 2017.

The Image team carries out activities in fundamental image domains such as Image simulation, Ground processing, Image quality, In-orbit testing, Embedded processing, Vision based navigation and Dedicated R&D activities.

Tasks & accountabilities

A large panel of software technologies is involved (Java EE, Python, GWT, RCP). To be always on the leading edge and cope with big data and cloud computing revolution this team is involved in several R&D activities.

We use “agile” methodologies and work in a continuous integration and automated validation environment.

You will join our development team. The subject will be more precisely detailed during the interview, depending on the different studies of the image department and on your aspirations.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

·  Enrolled in your final Master degree in an Engineering School or equivalent,
·  Ideally specialised in Software development, or in Signal and Image processing or applied mathematics with an in-depth interest in programming,
·  Knowledge of Matlab or C/C++, Python programming,
·  Advanced level in English required. Notions of French could be a plus.
