Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

The Modelling and Simulation department develops test means in order to validate Aircraft Systems throughout the development phase of the aircraft, from specification and design, up to integration of real equipment and airline crew training. These means include software components which simulate the behavior of the Aircraft, its systems and its environment. They also include the simulation of piece of Aircraft equipment such as mechanical parts, avionics and cockpit components.

The objective of your internship is to develop a proof of concept for using consumer electronic devices, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, to interface real elements with the simulator. Typical elements to interface are: potentiometers, buttons and LEDs, or serial buses like RS232, RS422, CAN or ARINC 429. Several prototypes will be integrated during the internship.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main mission will include:

·  comparing different solutions including the capability to integrate them into an industrial process (configuration management, continuous integration).

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's or the 5th year of engineering school, university or equivalent specialising in Information Technology.

You ideally have an initial experience and you have knowledge of Programming languages: C, C++ and Python.

You also have notions in electronics, serial buses and in configuration management (SVN/GIT), Agile development.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: advanced level.
