Description of the job

An internship position in Simplification of Airframe Structural Maintenance requirements has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. You will join the Airframe Certification department.
In the scope of incremental changes / new developments on an Airbus aircraft family, you will be responsible for developing a new approach on structure maintenance simplification / customisation with the associated business cases. You will work in a transnational and multidisciplinary environment.
This internship will start in February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

1) Apply on a concrete case (A330), the simplification of structure maintenance program requirements
2) Link the approach, with an automatic tool already installed in the aircraft cockpit, to the "maintenance flight bag" proposed new services
3) Develop a business case based on the potential benefits of this simplification

This will include interpretation/treatment of existing Fatigue & Damage Tolerance parametric studies and in-service experience data from A330 program.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  in the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of an engineering school, specializing in mechanical structure analysis engineering
·  overall knowledge of aircraft behaviour
·  knowledge in mechanical engineering and in particular fatigue and damage tolerance
·  good skills in Excel / Visual Basic
·  good team spirit, rigorous way of working and good interpersonal skills
·  advanced level of English; French would be a plus
