Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Elancourt) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

As part of an R&D project, you will initially have to evaluate several software profiling tools (GCC grof, gcov, Insure, Valgrind and other compiler tools), integrating the constraints and requirements of our software development environment.
This first part will end with a selection proposal which will be validated during a presentation with department experts. The project will then continue by implementing part of the solution (implementation and tests in a real environment) and will conclude with the presentation of results to an informed audience.

You will work within a software development department in the field of Professional Mobile Radiocommunications (PMR). The team of around 20 engineers works mainly on network core components based on TETRAPOL technology (TDM and IP solutions) and participates in upstream studies and Research and Technology (R&T) projects.

This internship will start on 9th January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Defining the method to follow in order to achieve the objective set for the internship
·  Evaluating and comparing software profiling tools
·  Presenting a solution suitable for the requirements and constraints of our software development environment
·  Implementing the selected solution
·  Carrying out demonstrations of the work performed.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of an engineering school, specialising in IT/Software.

You ideally have some initial experience.

You are proficient in (non-exhaustive list):

·  Linux OS
·  C language.

You are able to work in a team interacting with multiple stakeholders.

English: advanced level
French: fluent.
