Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

The Airbus Radio navigation engineering group needs calculation and modeling tools to highlight the behavior of systems, provide support for training and analyze the in-service events.

The first tool to be developed within this internship is an application using Google Earth that would display the aircraft's trajectory from flight test data, and would add additional data such as theoretical approach axis, areas of validity of the ILS signal, the estimate of some parameters from the device's position such as the theoretical height or distance from the runway threshold. This tool aims to facilitate the analysis of flight tests and in-service events.

The second tool to be developed will add the Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) function to a simulator of the GPS function developed in Matlab. This tool is able to estimate the precision parameters and integrity of a conventional GPS receiver. With this change, it will be able to estimate these parameters for the latest generation of GPS receivers equipped with SBAS function.

This internship will start on 2nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Writing the specification and developing the first tool,
·  Realizing the development of the second tool,
·  Writing the user manual associated with these tools.

The timeframe of the internship can be adapted.

Required skills

You are in the final year of a master's degree, or of an engineering school, specializing in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecom and / or Aerospace.

You ideally have an initial experience in the domain.

You have good knowledge of:

·  Matlab programming,
·  signal processing,
·  Pack Office (Word and Excel).

Knowledge of radio navigation systems would be appreciated.

You demonstrate rigor, autonomy and initiative.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

English: advanced level,
French: fluent.
