Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters Marignane is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

Developing Aircraft "Opening Systems" for new helicopters (Especially Doors and Cowlings perimeter), the department has to take care of noise to improve comfort and Customer satisfaction (as well the noise generated than transmitted by the openings) taking also in account the weight and the cost of each solution. To keep benefit on the return of experience and to improve existing solutions, the Departement needs to analyse all the noise transmission (through seals, gaps, windows) and all the noise generation (mechanisms, vibrations, shocks, resonance) and in addition needs to create some design rules, to manage a database, describing possible technical solutions, advantages, disadvantages.

The aim of your internship (or Master Thesis) is to create this new "design guide", allowing to estimate (for the future doors or emergency exits), the best technical solution, balancing and optimising the function, the geometry, the cost, the weight.

This internship will start on 6th March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main missions and activities will include:

·  Analysing existing solutions and existing qualification documents,
·  Planning a time schedule with design department,
·  Creating choice matrix and determination rules,
·  Writing evaluation and methodology rules,
·  Realising documentation to help the use of database.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's degree or in the 5th year of university, engineering school or equivalent specialising in Mechanical Engineering or Acoustic.

You ideally have an initial experience in this field and you have skills in acoustics, some knowledge in 3D Design on Catia V5.

You are curious and you have a good synthesis spirit.
You are a good team player and and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: fluent.
