Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

European leader for Defence and Space, Airbus Safran Launchers is responsible for developing space systems (launchers). The smooth running of the mission of these vehicles is based, among other things, on flight control, and more specifically on CNG systems.

Within the Flight Control department, you will join the "Navigation Methods" team which is in charge of the design and justification of navigation algorithms (inertia, radio navigation, optic, etc.), as well as the overall performance assessment of the launcher's precision.

You will more specifically be in charge of the research and development studies on the hybridisation between inertial sensors and radio navigation receivers (GPS), which represent a major challenge for launcher systems.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your tasks will include:

·  Participating in the integration and the adaptation of additional test means on existing test benches,
·  Developing and integrating navigation algorithms and implementing the associated simulation tools,
·  Evaluating performance,
·  Proposing innovative methods and modifications for test means.

Among other things, this internship will allow you to develop skills in hardware, software and to acquire key skills in space navigation and more generally, in automation and scientific programming.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, the 2nd year of a Master's degree, or the 5th year of university, specialising in Engineering/Real-Time Software.

Ideally, you have initial experience in this field and you have skills in:

·  IT and electronics,
·  Communication between electrical systems
·  Matlab/Simulink

You are recognised for your pragmatism, your inquisitiveness and your ability to work autonomously.
You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level.
French: fluent.
