Description of the job

Airbus (Nantes) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

Within the Plant Engineering team (Design Office integrated in the plant) which consists of around 40 people, you will work with the A350XWB MAP department to study production non-conformities on aircraft primary structure carbon composite parts (i.e. the centre wing box and the keel beam).

This internship, for a student in Mechanical Engineering, will start on 4th January 2016 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

· Defining a method for integrating non-conformities and calculation margins in the aircraft mock-up (using CATIA software)
· Capitalising on non-conformities on delivered aircraft with the aim of accelerating their processing
· Identifying differences in how non-conformities are handled in different work packages, explaining the differences and helping to standardise the analysis requirements

You will be required to work in a team and with other departments (Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality).

Profil recherché

Required skills

You are in the 4th or 5th year of an engineering school or university, specialising in Mechanical Engineering.

You ideally have knowledge of composite materials, complex industrial processes and aeronautical structures.
You are a proficient user of the Office tools, PATRAN/NASTRAN and Catia and have basic knowledge of Visual Basic (VBA).

You are autonomous and show initiative.
You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level (able to deal with technical documentation in English).
