Description of the job

Airbus in St. Eloi is looking for an intern for a 3 to 5-month internship.

This internship will start on 1st of March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Within Propulsion Airframe Engineering this internship will deal with the management of subcontracted activities. You will be in charge of the optimization of the Work Specification definition process. In particular you will harmonise the work units per activity to be subcontracted, per programmes and components including Pylon, Nacelles and Air inlet.

The project will be divided into different steps:
1. Synthesising the as-is situation of serial activities.
2. Defining a Multi-Functional team to work on the project.
3. Analysing redundancies and defining generic work units when possible, including all mandatory elements such as inputs, deliverables, acceptance criteria etc.
4. Formalising Work Units using dedicated templates and creating a user-friendly database.
5- Defining the workload per Work Units, taking into account the workload drivers per type of activity, in order support a robust target Must Price definition.
6- Synthesising the last development situation.
7- Proposing new Work Units for future developments.

Required skills

You are in the 3rd year of a Bachelor's Degree or an Engineering School. Ideally you are specialising in Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering.

You have good technical understanding e.g. good knowledge in Finite Element Method (FEM).

A basic knowledge of stress and design engineering would be a plus.

You possess a good knowledge of MS Office in particular MS Excel.

Ideally, you have acquired knowledge in database management e.g. in using MS Access.

You stand out due to your readiness to innovate and your open-mindedness. You are autonomous in your way of working.

Advanced English and French skills.
