Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern for a six-month placement.

You will join the unit responsible for processes, methods and system engineering tools on the Airbus Safran Launchers site at Les Mureaux.
You will work in close collaboration with engineers responsible for designing engineering environments for analysing system modelling solutions (MBSE). We envisage the analysis, storage, exchange and post-processing of multi-disciplinary launcher data, using a web platform developed by Airbus Safran Launchers in 2016. This innovative tool is based on several latest generation technological blocks.

This internship will provide you with a unique view of various key areas in the design of launchers and will allow you to appreciate the challenges involved in a transformation programme within Airbus Safran Launchers' technical division.

This internship will be available from 2 January 2017 (although there is a certain degree of flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your assignment will include two main tasks:

·  Firstly, assisting engineers (typically on the Ariane project) to analyse the modelling of their system data and that of interfaces with other sectors, in order, ultimately, to operate such an environment in the best possible way,
·  Assisting launcher design engineers (in a range of professional disciplines) in working out how to connect the simulation and post-processing tools for the studies which they conduct to web services.

Required skills

Candidates should be in their final year at an engineering school, Master's students or university students (5th year) specialising in computer science / software.

Ideally, you already have some initial experience.

You have the following skills:

·  A sound knowledge of scientific programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
·  Considerable ability in abstracting and conceptualising.
·  You are self-motivating and able to take the initiative
·  An interest in multi-disciplinary engineering

Candidates must be comfortable working as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.
