Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

Airbus Defence and Space, division of Airbus Group, is one of the leaders in space industry. The Space Systems division is the prime contractor of the "Ariane" Launchers, the "ATV" orbital vehicle, and the "Colombus" laboratory onboard the International Space Station.
In the frame of the studies of Future Launchers, some reusable systems are under investigation.
At the same time that the technical risks are under investigation, the business potential and interest needs to be studied in more details, and developed through first investors / customer contacts.
Among the "Programme Management" team, you will act as a "Junior Business Developer".
You will belong to a collocated team in charge of developing prototypes for new launchers, and will be responsible to support all business development activities.
Some travels might be needed (max 1-2 per month).

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

·  Developing business cases by:
·  Understanding the main drivers of costs and savings propos,
·  Developing some business cases (including NRC, RC, expected sales) by collecting all available datas (past and current) regarding market, market segmentation, cost analysis based on launcher configuration, cost of maintenance...,
·  Liaising with the different departments in charge of such datas (Cost Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Business Innovation,…),
·  Making some sensitivity analysis to identify the major drivers
·  Providing executive summaries and recommendations.
·  Developing market opportunities by:
·  Identifying the potential customers / investors, and the potential associated market (relying, if needed, on Marketing or Strategy department),
·  Preparing "executive summaries" and presentations to support customer contacts,
·  Supporting the preparation of programme files for potential investors,
·  Organizing meetings or seminars to raise attention on the topic and develop business contacts.
·  Supporting the Programme Manager for the "funding" activities by:
·  Preparing funding roadmaps, communication plans and stakeholder maps,
·  Participating to the communication of the Programme to internal stakeholders.

Required skills

You are in the final year of a Master's degree, or of a Business school, specialising in Finance.

You ideally have initial experience in this field.

You have knowledge of:

·  Sales / Marketing / Management,
·  Project Management,
·  Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint.

International experience would be a plus.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

English: Advanced level,
French: Fluent.
