Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Elancourt) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

You will be working within Airbus Defence and Space on the Elancourt site, for the "COMINT/OSINT Exploitation" department responsible for activities involving the design and production of intelligence systems using electromagnetic sources and open sources.
The mission of this team is to design and produce complex information systems on behalf of our customers in the Defence sector.

These information systems implement various technologies, in particular in the field of complex information processing for structured and semantic information (media mining, big data) in a context of strong security for the information systems produced.

Within an activity involving over 70 engineers, you will be working within a dynamic production team, applying design and development methods (Agile/Scrum, continuous integration, virtualisation architecture and using the cloud, etc.)

This internship will start on 2nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Based on software produced within the department responsible for monitoring the use and operation of a radio communication system, your work will include:

·  Listing the existing SDR tools (Software Design Radio),
·  Prototyping signal analysis visualisations using recorded data and integrating them, with support from the team, in the continuous development process (Agile development mode) of our products.

Your tasks will include:

·  Listing and selecting SDR tools,
·  Producing a mock-up for signal analysis visualisation fed by recorded data demonstrating the feasibility of integrating these bricks in our projects,
·  Integrating this mock-up in the existing development environment in terms of configuration management (Jira), of generation and test scripts (maven), of the server software base (Java Server Faces) and the graphic framework (Primefaces and JQuery).

You will draw up a document concerning the various listed SDR tools and concerning the mock-up production. The mock-up definition may possibly be studied with support from an ergonomist.

You will carry out these tasks in close cooperation with the current team to meet its needs and provide training for these new tools

Required skills

You are in the 2nd of a Master's degree or the 5th year of engineering school, specialising in Engineering/ Information systems.

Ideally, you have initial work experience.

You are proficient in:

·  Lean principles in Engineering,
·  Requirement development,
·  Systems architecture.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: fluent level.
