Description of the job

Airbus (Nantes) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

The main mission consists in deploying new drilling technologies for composite and metallic parts during A350 keel beam assembly so as to ensure production ramp-up.

This internship will start on 2nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

The objective of the internship is to:

·  Be responsible for qualification tests in the laboratory and on aircraft parts, including defining drilling parameters, performing tests, producing test reports and monitoring cutting tool & machine suppliers);
·  Participate in deploying the drilling means in the workshop and accompany the operators to guarantee optimal entry into service of this new technology;
·  Provide support for any malfunctions which may be detected (participating in problem-solving meetings).

You will also be responsible for the following additional missions:

·  Identifying technical solutions to reduce manufacturing costs;
·  Producing business cases to estimate the savings and costs involved in deploying these solutions;
·  Steering projects (communication with the production units, scheduling, risk analysis).

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or at university (5th year), specialising in production engineering.

Ideally, you have initial work experience in this field.

You are familiar with manufacturing engineering basics.

You are skilled in project management and have a good knowledge of composite materials.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level
French: fluent.
