Tasks & accountabilities

Your task will consist in analyzing the in flight operational data of satellites for observation of the Earth into orbit (family Spot, Metop, military satellites…) in order to follow the behavior and the performance of the attitude monitoring system: angular speed measure with gyroscope for the assessment of attitude, reaction wheels or magneto-couplers for the creation of couple…
The objective is to analyze the evolution of the performances of critical subsets for satellite avionics (using telemetry in flight), to model and predict evolution of specific behaviors. The final objective is to provide to the customers of the satellite (CNES, ESA, DGA) necessary up to date data to ensure the performance of space segment: stability of pointing, capacities of agility, restitution of orbit…

You will join the department SCAO (monitoring systems of attitude in orbit) Design/GNC and flight dynamics, in close collaboration with the team of study engineers in charge of the SCAO design for satellite programs under development.

Your will have, amongst other things, the following responsibilities:

·  Analyze in flight data (telemetry) of satellites in operational service: management of files and large database, tasks liaised to basic and advanced signal treatment in order to analyse various phenomena
·  Improvement of knowledge of various components of the monitoring system (equipment, interference) in correlation of inflight attitude with simulations and with digital modeling (using Matlab and/or benches of functional validation)
·  Propose and validation of improvements/modifications of the on board software in order to maintain or increase the performance of the space segment.

This internship is adapted to a school of engineering 4th year student (cesure).

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's or the 5th year of engineering school, university or equivalent specializing in Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering.

You ideally have an initial experience in this domain.

You have knowledge of:

·  Automatic and filtering, dynamics of the satellites, statistical analysis, General mechanical engineering,
·  Data processing: knowledge of Unix, language C, Matlab/Simulink wished.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: negotiation level,
French: negotiation level.
