Description of the job

An internship position in Aeronautical Engineering – Aircraft performance study has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. You will join the Aircraft Performance Department. The Aircraft Performance domain is responsible for the certification of the models used by airlines to dispatch their aircrafts. The certification of Aircraft models is made by comparison with flight tests.

The purpose of the internship will be to develop a process for the retrieval and analysis of flight test data using Big Data technics.

This internship will start in February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Understanding the current way of working
·  Analyzing the state of the art
·  Developing statistical data analysis tools and demonstrating the benefit for the domain (lead time/ accuracy/robustness/cost)
·  Developing solutions to extract valuable data
·  Drafting a summary in order to explain how to continue developing it by ourselves

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  In the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of a university or engineering school, with a specialization in aeronautics
·  Good knowledge in software development (Python, C/C++)
·  Good understanding of aircraft flight dynamics
·  Good communication to work with several teams (Design office, Flight tests)
·  Advanced level of English and intermediate level of French
