Description de l'offre

Airbus Toulouse

Airbus Group is a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. In 2014, the Group - comprising Airbus, Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Helicopters - generated revenues of € 60.7 billion and employed a workforce of around 138,600.

Description of the job

Airbus (Toulouse) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

The Flight Control System (FCS) of an aircraft is primarily used to control its trajectory, attitude and speed. It consists in a chain of elements that detect pilot inputs and ensure proper activation of control surfaces to execute the order. The Auto Flight System (AFS) aims at generating automatic orders to reach midterm objectives (such as altitude or speed capture or hold for example) and to send them to FCS that uses them instead of pilot inputs to control the aircraft.

To do so AFS requires data from many other systems to know aircraft position, speed and acceleration. These parameters, as well as the behaviour of the system providing them, have to be monitored to ensure the validity of the data used in the elaboration of the orders sent by AFS to FCS.
A particular system needed for precision approach and landing is the Multi Mode Receiver that provides precise positioning of the aircraft versus various ground based pieces of equipment. The MMR data are therefore used in critical flight phases (close to the ground) and require particular attention.

This internship will start on 1st March 2016 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

· reviewing these various monitoring (as currently designed on A350XWB), to put in place a global approach for the validation logics, taking into account failure cases and flight tests data and (with the support of the design team) to propose possible improvements,
· modelling these improvements, using SIMULINK, and testing on desktop simulation platform (OCASIME) to evaluate both the efficiency of the modification proposed and the absence of detrimental effects (non regression tests).
