Description of the job

A vacancy for an internship in Functional and Operational Analysis at Aircraft Level (m/f) has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) in Toulouse.
You will join the Systems Engineering Deployment department.
This internship will start on 4th September 2017 (subject to some flexibility) and is for a duration of at least 4 months.
According to the Airbus strategy regarding the digitalisation of activities and Model-based Systems Engineering based on models and in the continuation of previous projects, Airbus is developing a generic approach of Systems Engineering applied to all aircraft in order to:

·  Establish a robust functional and operational reference system that can be used to support incremental , as well as new aircraft's developments, by ensuring the complete coverage of the aircraft in all operational phases
·  Supporting the authoring of top-level aircraft requirements by providing a complete traceability with this functional splitting.

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Identification of the possible deficiencies of the current model by evaluating its granularity according to operations functions, and consulting specialists of each function to evaluate its representativeness and by analysing the quality metrics associated to the model (complexity, connectivity, cycles, etc.)
·  Completing and refining the model by ensuring a traceability as complete as possible with all generic requirements of the Aircraft system of interests and by ensuring a uniform granularity in splitting and by implementing all results in the current model
·  Managing all activities mentioned above as a full-fledged project by elaborating a planning schedule and delivering the corresponding documentation

Required skills

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

·  Master (or in achievement ) in Engineering, Aerospace or Systems Engineering or related studies.
·  Good knowledge and general understanding of concepts of Systems Engineering applied to aeronautics
·  Experience with functional modelling software
·  Independent, analytical skills
·  Ability to work in a team
·  Initial experience working in a team would be an asset
·  Language skills: Negotiation level of English, negotiation level of French
