Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters (Marignane) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

Within the context of the development of installed avionic systems on helicopters, automated test tools have been developed and require changes enabling them to increase their effectiveness.

Your internship will involve studying the possibility of expanding the current method of visual analysis of the information displayed on control screens of modern helicopters.

These visually fluctuating information over time must be detected and analysed. These video recordings can come from various sources, either acquired and recorded during flight, or produced on a system integration bench based on a test procedure.

You will join the methods/process and innovation team and you will work with certain other teams of the ETXSE department.

This internship will start on 31st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main task will consist in proposing a method:

·  to analyse a certain number of cases (detection of a colour change, appearance of a written message, decoding graphic values giving information on altitude, direction, etc.),
·  to learn how to analyse on the fly a video stream coming from a webcam, video recording or directly from an avionic screen,
·  to propose a generic method in order to be able to easily use these analyses in several existing tools.

You will also be requested to specify, carry out, test and update the documentation of all associated developments or analyses in accordance with all stakeholders.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, university or equivalent (5-year degree) in Information Technology Engineering, Signal Processing, Video Analysis.

You ideally have initial experience in this field and you have good knowledge in IT about C, C++, Java languages and video processing.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level,
French: advanced level.
