Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters Marignane is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

Increasing the maximum speed of Helicopters is an important challenge. This is especially the case for rotor dynamics, because some new types of dynamic instabilities, usually not encountered at conventional speed, may occur.

Within the Dynamics, vibrations & acoustics department of Airbus Helicopters, you will be in charge to develop an analytical model permitting to assess the main rotor dynamic stability and especially at high speed.

For this challenging mission, you will be immersed in an international team of 34 engineers, giving you the opportunity to have fruitful exchanges and all the required support.

This internship will start on 3th April 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

1- Studying the equations and model set up,
Four Degree Of Freedom modelling

2- Analysing the results (Method comparison ):
a. State space matrix harmonic decomposition
b. Flocquet analysis

3- Participating to the parametric study : Impact of rotor characteristics , flight conditions...

4- Implementing this model in a in-house software suite (GAHEL).

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's degree or in the 5th year of university, engineering school or equivalent specialising in Aeroelastics Engineering.

You ideally have an initial experience in this field.
You are a good team player and and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: advanced level,
French: fluent.
