Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 4 to 6-month internship.

The Mission Avionics Operations and Customer Support department is in charge of the development and validation of satellite operational procedures for all telecommunication satellites of Airbus DS.

The satellite operational procedures are sequences containing telemetry commands and controls.
These procedures are executed in control centres to interact with the satellite and thus carrying out the positioning and in orbit exploitation operations.
These procedures are built from generic procedures that are instantiated for each new mission and validated on a simulator.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Within the Telecommunication Satellite Operations and Customer Support group, your tasks will involve developing tools to assist with the validation of satellite operational procedures.

You will be in charge of tool development enabling the simplification of the validation activities:

·  The first tool will format validation reports by analysing the execution results of the simulation.

A current tool exists and it will serve as a starting point for the development of this tool (duration: 2 months).

·  The second tool will analyse the test coverage.

From the instantiated procedure test results, the tool will analyse the generic procedure coverage (duration: 4 months)

You will fully be integrated in operational teams and you will be at the heart of positioning and in-orbit follow-up activities for Airbus telecommunication satellites.

You will also be integrated in software development teams that will provide the technical support for development aspects and software methods.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or in the 5th year of university, specialising in Aeronautical Engineering/Aerospace, IT.

You ideally have an initial experience in this field.

You are a team player, independent and are willing to make suggestions.

You have knowledge of Java RCP programming, and the Eclipse agile method.

English: advanced level,
French: advanced level.
