Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

Within the "Civil Vehicles" engineering department, the "Vehicle Draft Project" Design Office is in charge of designing and rationalising future space launchers and orbital vehicles.
In this respect, it studies the overall architecture, estimates or assesses mechanical loads, and designs and (pre-)dimensions the structure of the various machines.
Over the next few months, the department is tasked with preparing the evolutions of Ariane 6 launchers and the availability of the European Service Module (ESM) for the US MPCV vehicle.
In parallel, the department is working on ever more innovative launcher designs for 2035 in an industrial context that is becoming more and more competitive.
Over the course of your internship, you will be required to communicate with a range of people both within the team and from different sectors.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Researching and analysing existing launcher architectures in Europe and around the world
·  Choosing and designing an innovative launcher that breaks away from current technologies
·  Looking in great detail at a mechanical subsystem specific to the selected design
·  Adapting design office tools to the study needs.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or in the 5th year of a university degree, specialising in Engineering/Mechanical Design.

Ideally, you have some experience in this field.
You are skilled in training in mechanical design and CAD.

You have the following qualities:

·  Basic knowledge of structure and material calculations
·  Knowledge of aeronautical and space vehicles.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: advanced level,
French: advanced level.
