Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an internship for a 6 month period.

Within the "Telecommunications Satellites Development" department, you will belong to the "France" team in the Design Office. The main mission of the department is to define the development of Telecommunications Satellites.

Within the department you will be responsible for defining and developing new data flow management methodologies with all our partners and customers, in the context of the LEAN management methodology.

The mission will be to incorporate the requirements of the various transnational sites, in order to establish a master using connected tools.

Elaboration of the documentation and user guides supporting these new processes and tools will be required as well as a presentation to the Design Office as a whole.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your mission will be to develop new monitoring and innovative organisational methodologies based on Catia V6.
You will be responsible for the following specific activities:

·  Management of activity flow sequencing,
·  Ensure visibility and monitoring of activities,
·  Measurement of risks according to the maturity of inputs,
·  Implementation on the new Telecom platform, of an integrated data management system based on V6 experience,
·  Evaluation of the V6 experience capacity for our operating domain,
·  Comparison of V6 experience with the tools available in the marketplace, and establishment of a review of their costs and ease of use, taking into account our needs,
·  Provision of the necessary customisation of the tools,
·  Development and production of the operating process,
·  Organisation of the daily workload and monitoring of evolutions on the new telecommunications platform.

The objective is to implement the most efficient possible tool or management principle for the incoming and outgoing data flows for our trade, and generating performance indicators. This process must be integrated with our CAD, project and IT tools.

You will be supervised by a team of satellite development experts.
You will need to work collaboratively in a transnational context.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or at university (5th year), specialising in General Mechanical Engineering.

Ideally you will have initial experience and sound knowledge of:

·  CAD tools (CATIA V5, V6, new 3D display tools),
·  CAT script, VBA, Python or solid works (optional but preferred).

Knowledge of the Aerospace industry would be a plus.

You have a recognised capacity for learning, a synthetic approach and good practical and mechanical aptitude.

You have an enquiring mind and an ability for accompanying change.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: Advanced level,
French: Fluent.
