Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship. This internship will start in February/March 2017 (date subject to some flexibility).

The Machine Learning tools allow the extraction of more and more information from satellite images. However, for these tools, it is necessary to have learning and validation data.

The use of Crowd-Mapping tools allows at the same time the creation of a learning base and the improvement of the tools.
The cooperation between the automatic extraction tools of Machine Learning and the Crowd-Mapping tools is extremely promising.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Being in charge of the open-source development of a web/mobile interface for the creation of satellite image extracted object database
·  Validating/disproving the automatic detection of objects
·  Adding labels to the objects, validating/communicating on the addition of automatic labels, and managing users
·  Implementing badges/awards (confer to waze) and providing statistics.

Required skills

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience:

·  You are in the final year of a Master' degree in Computer Science/IT, specialising in Software Development and you are looking for a 5/6-month internship.
·  You have experience in software development, and development of applications for mobiles.
·  You have experience in Front-End (Angular JS) development - Javascript framework development.
·  You are familiar with GitHub, Open Source, and Google Cloud Platform.
·  You are familiar with user interface topics, ergonomics and API design.
·  Knowledge of Leaflet or OpenLayers (Javascript library for interactive cards) would be a plus.
·  You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·  You are recognised for your inquisitiveness, proactive approach and your independent nature.
·  You have a fluent level of French and an advanced level of English.
