Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Kourou) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

Airbus Safran Launchers is the main industrialist within the Guiana Space Centre (CSG) since it is the prime contractor on the final assembly line of the Ariane 5 launcher in Launcher Integration Building (BIL) and Final Assembly Building (BAF).
The CSG gathers all the required installations and means associated to the proper performance of the launches for Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega (from integration building to launch pad).
Growing competition in this aerospace sector forces Airbus Safran Launchers to review its work regarding costs and deadlines while maintaining the impeccable quality of its product that made it renowned as well as the safety of people and goods.
You will work in this industrial context in support to continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing working parties on the Ariane 5 Launcher final assembly line.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will involve:

·  Steering 5S working parties within storage room in BIL and BAF, and workshops in Bessel Kepler,
·  Implementing and anchoring FOD (Foreign Object Debris or Damage) processes in BIL,
·  Ensuring the daily follow-up and update of the various indicators at the operational level (Safety, Quality, Cost, Deadline, Personnel),
·  Taking part in the weekly meetings regarding performance criteria at the management level (Safety, Quality, Cost, Deadline, Personnel),
·  Developing and implementing new performance indicators (in particular regarding planning and resources) as well as progress visuals for logistics / store and campaign activities,
·  Drafting and updating the application standards for the various indicators (inputs/outputs and distribution),
·  Improving the tools on the Qualification Individual Files of the workers,
·  Taking part in the operational and managerial routines during launch campaigns (resource histograms, operation planning, process review, visual management, performance criteria),
·  Developing an optimisation tool for Ariane 6 campaigns (Residents vs Missionaries),
·  Developing a planning tool for Airbus Safran Launchers operations.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of engineering school, specialising in Aerospace.

You ideally have initial experience in this field.

Knowledge of MS PROJECT, Access 2010 tools and VBA language would be a plus.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.
