Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

In the context of the continuous development of the Airbus A350, in this internship you will explore possibly improving the sizing process used to establish Allowable Damage Limits (ADL) and bolted repairs.

This internship will start on 1st October 2016 (subject to certain flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

This internship will involve:

·  Establishing if the certification calculation could also cover the ADLs and/or repairs to avoid a second calculation loop,
·  Simplifying the calculation work, notably based on further data from the latest structural test results,
·  Increasing the current limits and/or extending the coverage. The results are eligible for incorporation into Aircraft Structure Repair (ASR) and/or to be used by in-service repair teams.

In addition, in order to support the future development of the programme, the results may be used to make recommendations to design teams for optimising basic sizing (eliminating conservatism, weight gain) while ensuring that it remains repairable.

Required skills

You are in the final year of an engineering school, university or equivalent (5-year degree), specialising in Engineering/Composite and Metallic Structural Stress.

You ideally have an initial experience in the field.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

English: advanced level.
French: intermediate level.
