Description of the job

An internship in Competencies Support and Industrialization for Engineers has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Blagnac. You will join the Engineering Department.
In line with our strategy, the needs to develop our engineering population with customer services, manufacturing but also procurement knowledge have been highlighted. The goal is not only to provide a theoretical awareness but to confront every engineer along its development to product manufacturing or to product operation.
The aim is to improve the cost and lead times of Aircraft development (or incremental modification) by taking better account of manufacturing constraint in the early steps of development. Basically, the designer shall be in position to judge if the proposed design or modification may have negative impact on manufacturing. On the other hand, a more customer oriented mindset and associated knowledge shall be developed to enable every engineer to propose solution with positive effects on support and services.
This 6 Month internship will start from October 2017 (Date subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Provide a comprehensive as-is of the current situation by:
·  Explaining what has been tested in the past: learning, exchange between entity, mobility …
·  Performing an interview campaign (including designer and managers from different functions) with a formatted survey
·  Benchmarking or use already available data
·  Assess some practical cases
·  Decline recommendations for managers and designers

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Graduated of a Master 1 degree level (or equivalent) and preparing a 5 year degree in Design Engineering Methods or a related discipline.
·  Capabilities to interact with a wide range of population
·  Capabilities to understand the mission of different Airbus entity
·  Good level of synthesis
·  Advanced level of English
