Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

FLUSEPA is a three-dimensional computation code developed by the Airbus Safran Launchers Fluid Mechanics department and adapted to the simulation of complex flows (unsteady, compressible, turbulent, reactive, multiphasic, etc.) around bodies in relative motion.
It covers a very wide range of fields in physics, from internal aerodynamics (study of the nozzle and thruster operation, jet effect modelling, etc.), to external aerodynamics (launcher "classical" aerodynamics).
One of its originalities comes from its meshing overlap conservative technique which is used to simulate the flows around several bodies in relative motion without amplitude limits or constraint relating to the kinematics of the various objects.
The aim of your internship will be to implement the "actuator disk" methodology with FLUSEPA, thus making it possible to simulate rotary machinery (simulation of the propellers of a turboprop for example)

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  Implementing at first the methodology (meshing, digital method, IT programming),
·  Applying then the method on some test cases in order to validate the results.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school, completing a Master's degree or at university (5th year), specialising in Aerodynamics Engineering.

Ideally, you have initial work experience.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: advanced level
French: fluent level
